O teste de run up caracteriza as velocidades críticas.

Abstract

In this paper the dynamic behavior of CSN Tandem Cold Mill (TCM) 1 and 2 is evaluated. The manufacture of thin steel is sensitivy to operational conditions and stability of these conditions is very important to attend special dimensional requirements, like need by food industry applications. The rolling process is sensitive to operational conditions. Therefore, instability may causes the thickness of the material to get out of control, resulting in production losses. The adopted methodologies are the implementation of vibration monitoring, investigation through vibration of peripheral equipment and statistical analysis using Designs of Experiments (DOE). The results show that TCM#1 is excited in the third-octave chatter range; this event is self-excited. Run-up test characterize critical speeds. DOE shows the relevant parameters of the process. TCM#2 appears in the fifth-octave chatter. The run-up test demonstrates the root cause of low frequencies. Experiments performed in the TCM#2 demonstrate that clearances are not affected by speed. Our conclusion is that online monitoring (SKF MasCon®), which interacts with parameters by defined mathematical models through DOE's ensure the stability process by eliminating the chatter phenomenon.
